RAAD represents an event on Robotics that is organised yearly by a Community of robotic specialists in  the Alpe-Adria-Danube Region of Europe. The first event was held in 1992, organized by the Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was named the 1^st International Meeting on Robotics in Alpe Adria Region. In the following years the event was named International Workshop on Robotics in Alpe-Adria-Region (RAA) until 1996, when the denomination was changed in International Workshop on Robotics in Alpe-Adria-Danube-Region (RAAD). The term Workshop was maintained until 2013; since 2014 the event is named International Conference on Robotics in Alpe-Adria-Danube-Region.
